IN CHRIST WHO IS OUR LIFE
10/05/24 07:41

‘When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory’ Col 3.4 NIV. Our glory is never some form of notoriety or showing off. Neither is it a supernatural emanation. Our glory is to be ourselves as a son/daughter of God and be doing what God means for us to do.
What is often overlooked is that the manifest presence of God is you. This is the Real Presence of heaven invading earth. It’s called incarnation.
UNIQUE SONS AND DAUGHTERS
To be a son/daughter of God is to be the ‘I am’ of yourself. Not only are you who you are by creation and redemption. You are an agent of spirit and life. In the law or miasma of religion we are not spiritual people. We alone manifest as our true selves in the Spirit of Christ which is to say when He is our life.
BOUND TO LIFE
The most subtle and persuasive substitute for Christ our life is a Christian version of the knowledge of good and evil. These skinny cows stalk the Christian church like the emaciated cattle of pharaoh’s dream.
In the law we are in Adam. In Moses we are in the law. A faith community that is both is a culture of the knowledge of good and evil – a pre-cross prison based on poor Biblical interpretation and invalid revelation. Such a culture is not the Kingdom and always subject to spiritual inertia. Gregory Boyd is correct in his insight that segments of Christianity are a Christian version of the knowledge of good and evil. Particularly is this so in legalised gospels.
THE PLOY
A friend opined that the church church he visited was short on information in its preaching. It was in fact different to the ideology he was used to because his concept of Godliness was a version of Christianity based on the knowledge of good and evil. It’s this look-alike godliness that is Satan’s clever ploy against the spirit of Christ our life. This is the reason why those enshrouded in a false gospel fight so rabidly to maintain it when its iniquitous nature founded on lies and fraud is revealed.
SAUL TO PAUL
It is significant that Paul, a key apostle of Jesus’ Kingdom, came out of a variation of Adamic captivity (Pharisaism), to set people free by binding them to oneness with God in Christ - a oneness that exceeded any intimacy that any ‘great’ men and women of the pre-cross years enjoyed. Paul unveiled a oneness with God expressed as the inter-woveness of us into God and the interwoveness of the trinity into us as individuals and the church.
Karl Barth writes, “Paul, it is true, is always himself, and moves essentially on the same plane as all other men. But, in contradiction to himself and in distinction from all others, he is—called by God and sent forth.” Any who live oneness as a way of life are similarly sent as life-givers to the un-living.
LIFE TO THE FULL
If you are a disciple you are sent forth to liberate people from humbug and unlife. Since Jesus died to give us infinite life there is no excuse to accommodate people to lesser degrees of life just because of ‘our perspective’.
Paul had a good mind and a good education. Steeped in a mode of religion that locked people up and killed some in the name of God, He was born again to become a representative of the free spirit – the freedom that is the possession of all for whom Christ is life.
TRUTH AND LIFE
Jesus’ declaration confirms that un-truth, lies and spin are robbery and manifestations of death in politics and religion. He and His life for us is truth and life without limit. ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full’ John 10.10 NIV. When Christ is our life to the exclusion of Adam and Moses we are ministers of unlimited life.
Do we need to repent of being ministers of limited life?
In line with the prophecy in Isaiah and the declaration of Jesus in Luke 4.18, Paul became an apostle of setting people free. It was he who spoke of ‘the law of sin and death’ and he who coined the phrase, ‘the law of the spirit of life’ that is the resurrected Spirit of Christ in us and us in Christ. This is the new creation life that expands into the world.
INCARNATED LIFE
Paul was intelligent and well educated but it was not this that made him an apostle of life. His words, ‘Christ your life’ where his life. He lived Christ with such determination and passion and that he met a death similar to His Lord. Because He was alive. Some people eat Life. Others resist it and crucify those who represent it. Always because they have made a life out of some degree of unlife.
UNDILUTED. UNPOLLUTED
There is merit in a full gospel and an undiluted word. Merit because Christ’s life as us is LIFE TO THE FULL.
Paul writes, ‘I became its servant by the commission God gave me to fully proclaim to you the word of God, the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory’ Col 1.25-27 NIV.
