WHY YOU NEED THE MIND OF CHRIST

The progress of science owes much to the Judeo-Christian landscape. As compared to the fragmentation implied by a hoard of Egyptian or Greek Gods the intelligibility of reality flowing from the Fabric of The Logos gives an epistemology that generates purpose, the rationality of cause and effect and meaning that is based in the Personhood of the trinity.
 
HUMANITY AND BARBARISM
 
Western Civilisation has its flaws but its fabric and attachment to liberty and vision comes not from humanism. Its best qualities come from the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the empowering influence of apostles and missionaries. The Industrial Revolution began in Europe for a reason. The Enlightenment was the fruit of The Reformation. It did not spring from paganism or the superstitions of the benighted many.
 
CAREFUL WHAT YOU THINK
 
People who value wisdom and vision will do well to place their children in Christian Education and free them from the vanity, folly and futility that has surfaced in populism and the demagoguery of Fools. Choose your curriculum wisely. The Christian World view is not bigotry. Humanism, political correctness, and the dictatorship of fads is folly and deceit of the worst kind.
 
FOOLS REVEAL THEMSELVES AS WHAT THEY ARE
 
When intelligent people follow fools and do dumb things, we call this stupidity. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom but not the end of it. Life/wisdom comes from Christ and folly comes from the father of lies.
 
This implies further, that the law of the spirit of life is the communion of all things in God. Not an abstraction and not something that is as clinical and impotent as the law. The trinity is the hub and rationality of the universe. This means that the foundation of Being is personal, purposeful,  alive and  love.
 
INNER RATIONALITY
 
 “Thomas Torrance stated that the Universe is intelligible, and amenable to scientific investigation, precisely because God the creator has granted it its own rationality. He said, “all empirical science depends on nature being created out of nothing, and being given a contingent order.” More than that, the whole scientific enterprise is given to humanity by God, in order that the Universe may come to a knowledge of itself and may glorify its Creator.” (1)
 
The fruit of Godlessness and the effeteness of Christianity without Christ has been far too obvious in the recent season. The version of Christianity that favours Mr Trump has nothing to do with Jesus and is bereft of wisdom and life.
 
GROUNDED BELIEVERS
 
As Believers, we are not at liberty just to make stuff up or change the nature of the Gospel because some school of philosophy or prophetic figure has proposed an alteration to the Gospel – an adjustment that undoes our liberation from Adam and places us back in the law of Moses. This not only undoes the achievements of the cross but suffocates the incarnation, leaving corpses that speak, where there could have been spirit and life.
 
 “Theology should be confident that it has to do with the true nature of God and with the true mode of God’s interaction with the world; and not just with a human theorizing which may have no actual correspondence to reality.” (2)
 
Having our own partisan ‘gospel’ may give us a sense of identity and status, but in doing so it debilitates our life in Christ and comes close to being a cult – which offers itself as an alternative way to THE LIVING WAY established by Jesus and taught by the apostles, Church Fathers and Reformers.
