TO MINISTER HIS REAL LIFE

We can minister Christ’s life to others when we are His life. We can minister His life when we are partially un-healed in soul and mis-informed about sound doctrine. This is because it is Christ who is this life and this healing and not ourselves. We minister in the most freedom when our Gospel is Christ’s Gospel and we have been baptised into the healing that comes from our oneness with Father.
A GLASS ALL FULL
We minister fullness by living in His fullness as new covenant bearers of spirit and life. The triune God is united in ministry to us. Holy Spirit lives to minster all Jesus is to us. Martin Davis observes that, “The Holy Spirit sets us free to know Jesus as “Lord.” We cannot know Jesus as “Lord” apart from the work of the Holy Spirit. We do not “make Jesus Lord” by a personal decision of faith. Rather, the Spirit sets our fallen minds free for revelation. The Spirit sets us free to know Jesus as “Lord.” To be “charismatic” is more than speaking in “tongues.” It is to know Jesus as “Lord” and God as “Abba, Father.” These are the great gifts of the Spirit!” (1)
LIFE MINISTER
The marvel of salvation is that God reaches out in His Son to include us in Himself. God’s atonement makes us one with God. God’s incarnation makes God part of us. Holy Spirit ministers to us what is already ours in Jesus. Holy Spirit will never minister the law that binds. Neither will the Spirit promote the law that blinds. Holy Spirit lives to minister the fullness of Jesus. The Spirit magnifies who Jesus is and makes plain the real nature of our inheritance in Christ.
ONE AS WE ARE ONE
There are seasons that start with a bang and end with a whimper. We can be led by the Spirit or not. Should we insist on clutching long held perspectives that separate us from God, Holy Spirit will not force us. Neither will the Spirit remain but will withdraw to return when we are more amenable to the Gospel of Jesus and Paul.
