We can live as a faint representation of ourselves. Or we can live ever more fully in the glory of who we are. For some the Real Self is never known by themselves or others. It is submerged under the false self of personal achievement and religion. The self-made self is of course real. But it is not who we actually are.

The real world. The Real Self and the reality that is God and our salvation known when we are one with the Being of God.

We move from glory to glory as we live the revelation of who Jesus is and what He has done. Glory is found in truth – which means sound doctrine. The glory of God is to be God. I AM is fully God and complete AS HIMSELF. There is no entity higher than God, no other thing to which God must defer. In Him all that exists holds together and finds its nature and purpose. You are known in God as you are and you become who you really are when enfolded in Christ who is your life.

God is not an abstraction, not an unmoved-mover and not a ‘force.’ His glory is put on view in the face of Jesus’ Christ. ‘For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ’ 2 Cor 4.6 NIV. God is big but not so big that you are unable to relate to Him. Large as He is He lives in you and you in Him.

God has a character summarised in this: God is love. God’s love is expressed in the COMMUNION OF THE TRINITY and the person of Jesus Christ who is fully God, equal with God and the one and only representation of who God is. To see Jesus is to see our Father. To know God is to know Jesus. In Jesus we are loved to the same degree that Father loves Jesus.

‘The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven’ Hebrews 1.3 NIV.

Moses ‘saw’ God faintly. From a fissure in the rock he observed his outline or back parts. In the fullness of time the world saw the fullness of God in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. ‘And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe’ Heb 1.2 NLT.

The law reflects the back parts of Christ. It was the shadow of the real. Jesus is the face of God – the real expression of the fullness of God. You, when Christ is your life are the expression of Christ.

The glory of God is seen in the life and the face of Jesus Christ. Here the command to seek God’s face finds its fulfilment. The Spirit of Christ will reveal Himself to all who choose Him as Lord. The glory of God is expressed in the person of Jesus. And the glory of you is seen when Christ is your life. Just as Jesus was one with our Father, so in Christ are you. Christ’s relationship with His Father has become your relationship and we may truly say, we and Father are one. In Jesus, Father, and Holy Spirit entered into the most degrading depth of human alienation and rebellion. In doing so we were drawn into their fellowship. Just as Father was not separated from Jesus by the crucifixion, so none of us are separated from God either by sin or by death.

‘For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation’ 2 Cor 5.19 NIV.

To live is Christ and to die is gain. To die in regard to what? To die in relation to the law and our drive for self-vindication; to die to separation and to be raised to union with God; to die to the flesh and be raised to live in the Spirit; to die to an attempted life in externalities and to live in the freedom and extravagance of Christ our life.

Religion is the attempt to live in externalities as though they are life. To be alive is to be in Christ and impart spirit and life to any externality. To live in Jesus is to become the beneficiary of the Father’s revelation to His sons. Here we are exposed to the revelation of the Spirit without limit and drawn into the truth that sets us free: We and Father are one.

To live in new covenant reality is to be aligned with what God has done in Christ. We are one with God, alive in the One Spirit and living in perpetual encounter with His glory.

‘The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth’ John 1.14 NIV.
