The prologue of John announces the new creation – which in fact has been planned before the foundation of the world. The new creation in the Agency of Jesus, would imbue the cosmos with what God always was and who God is: ‘In Him is life and that life is the life of the world.’

If we are hooked on life we will be pursuing every avenue of life and truth with absolute resolve. Ours will not be an experience in which we pick up crumbs and shards of truth but neglect the whole treasure because our real purpose is to preserve what we have and the identity we think we have in our religious perspective.

The chief characteristic of the miser is limited vision in the worst sense of narrow-mindedness, born of the desire to cling to what one has. The miser’s one aim in life is to cling to his stuff. Some are hoarders. Other cling to a poverty mentality because they are obsessed with what they have got. Which is not a lot.

The nature of the Godly person is to be a reflector of God. This is what ‘sons’ do. Who and what is God in God’s vision?
Baxter Kruger writes,

The trinitarian life is a great dance of unchained communion and intimacy, fired by passionate, self-giving and other-centered love, and mutual delight.  This life is good.  It is right, unique, full of music and joy, blessedness and peace. Such love, giving rise to such togetherness and fellowship and oneness, is the womb of the universe and of humanity within it.

The stunning truth is that this Triune God, in amazing and lavish love, determined to open the circle and share the trinitarian life with others. This is the one, eternal and abiding reason for the creation of the world and of human life

We can embrace a gospel of words and by doing so side-line the Living Word because we have chosen a version of the knowledge of good and evil rather than Christ our life and union with God.

The age following the cross is the age of the new creation. It is the age of abundance and vision; an age in which human beings are understood to be ‘without limit’ because they are sons and daughters of God who live in God and represent God where they are.
