have what jesus has

Easter is a sign and the celebration that the old creation is dead and the new creation has begun. It means that our life in the law/knowledge of good and evil is dead and we have been put to life in Jesus Christ. Just as a wedding is a declaration that this is man and wife, Easter is the celebration of our resurrection to our new life in the Last Adam, Jesus Christ. This is the import of the prologue to the book of John. The New creation of us and the world begins in the resurrected Jesus Christ.

Easter means that our life in Adam has finished and our life in Jesus is now. It means that the regime of the knowledge of good and evil is over and the Mosaic laws that went with it are passé. Easter means that Christ is our life and we are not. Yet we are so alive! That we are hidden in Jesus, revealed in his Christ and have our being in Christ. More than this we have oneness with Christ via atonement and incarnation. We have theosis which is the nature of Christ expressed as Dan and Phoebe.

God at work in our salvation and reconciliation with Him is the expression of who God is in Himself. The union and communion of the trinity – three persons, one God is shared with us as a result of the cross, the atonement, incarnation and anointing of the Spirit.

What we get is much more than a judicial acquittal as our inheritance. We get a state of being – fellowship and communion with God. The Lord’s Table is not a moping session about the cross. The Lord’s Table is the sign that our normal life is one substance with God.

In the law we never get beyond externalities with the result that law-based faith does not produce spirituality. It replicates ‘try harderism’ and seldom met intentions. In the Spirit, Godliness becomes you because YOU ARE A SON/DAUGHTER in the Holy Family.
As genuine disciples of Jesus and sons and daughters of God we must reject reductionist teaching that reduces relationship to law and God to a school master enforcing the rules and caning miscreants. These views give rise to spiritual and sexual abuse, not to mention the slander that is implied against god and the niggardly poverty version of godliness that is multiplies.
The schoolmaster of the law leads to Christ, but Christ does not lead to the law. He leads to unlimited spirit and life by joining us to the fullness of God in Himself and making His relationship with God our relationship with God. “
The economic Trinity and the ontological Trinity overlap with one another and belong to one another, and can no more be separated than the Act of God can be separated from his Being or his Being from his Act.” (1)
