LIVE FROM TRUE KNOWLEDGE
03/10/24 12:39
“It was characteristic of Irenaeus’ understanding of the Gospel and his presentation of the Faith that the primary focus should be on Jesus Christ himself as Lord and Saviour within the overarching framework of God’s self-revelation as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is only through Christ the incarnate Son of God that true knowledge of God is possible, so that his trinitarian understanding of God was Christologically and soteriologicaly conditioned through and through”.(1)
DISCERNING
‘Realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20. This is the realisation that makes us part of His Body. Part of Him because Christ has made us one with Himself. This is our oneness with God – far more than a positional attachment.
GOD’S KIND OF ONENESS
Jesus as one with God and fully God is who He is in fellowship with the trinity. We are who we are as sons/daughters of God in spirit and in truth in Jesus ‘one substance’ with the trinitarian God. It is the nature of the trinity that they have a profound oneness with each other yet remain unique as themselves. It is a similar oneness that we have been drawn into Christ so that we become part of the Family of God and our true selves. Living sonship is prior to and causative of any works of kingdom agency and fruitfulness.
LIVING CHRIST
The law has no relevance in the New Testament and is never held up as the Way of salvation. Not by ministers of Christ’s Gospel. The Gospel is not primarily edicts on morals. It is Christ as us which means ourselves as the expression of Christ and manifestation of Him in the world. This is the effect of the incarnation lived.
Francois Du Toit writes, “We have renounced hidden agendas [employing a little bit of the law in an attempt to “balance” out grace]; we have distanced ourselves from any obscure craftiness to manipulate God’s word to make it mean what it does not say! With truth on open display in us, we highly recommend our lives to everyone’s conscience!
CHRIST THE LIVING WORD AND YOU THE IMAGE OF HIM AS YOURSELF
“Truth finds its most authentic and articulate expression in human life. This beats any doctrinal debate! (It is our passion for all to see what is so completely obvious in the mirror of our redeemed likeness and innocence! The word translated craftiness, is the word panourgia from pas and ergon, all manner of wearisome labor! Conscience in Latin means to know together; in the Greek, suneido, translates as joint seeing; which is the opposite of Hades, from ha + eido, not to see.)” II Corinthians 4:2. Mirror Study Bible (https://app.mirrorword.net)”
Christ is the reality of holiness and wholeness. This has nothing to do with the law and everything to do with our already achieved union with God in Christ. Our living in this reality is the difference between separation and oneness with God. It’s also the difference between representing the Kingdom of Christ and the kingdom of christianity. The fruitfulness of Christ in you is that He becomes us – the meaning of the Lord’s Table and the New Creation lived.
