THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

JOHN 17

eyeshaveit44

You will know God and know yourself if you have made Christ your life. There is no pious feat in this. Just a simple belief in John 17 and agreement with Jesus that we get to enjoy the oneness He has with Father because of His cross, resurrection and indwelling of us in the Spirit.

HE IS WHO HE IS
If God is a hitching post for our ideas, we cannot expect to have more than a dim view of who God is. If Christ is our life and we are one with Him in a state of being we can expect to be on a ride of increasing revelation of who God is in spirit and in truth. Also as who we are as an agents of His as a daughter/son.

BARE BONES
Fundamentalism is firm of religion but it is not spirituality. It strips us of Godliness and humanity because its medium is ‘the letter that kills’ – kills because words in the medium of the knowledge of good and evil are not alive* and as a result depict more often than not a false christ and a confused us.

THE WAY IS ONENESS
Thomas Torrance urges that, “
In seeking to interpret God’s trinitarian self-revelation through the medium of the gospels and epistles we have to do with an altogether deeper dimension in knowledge. But here it holds true that it is through personal dwelling in Christ and interiorising his Word within us that we enter into a cognitive union with him as God incarnate and are thereby admitted to an intimate knowledge of God’s self-revelation in its intrinsic wholeness and are enabled to discern the truth of his self-revelation as we could not do otherwise.” This union is ours in Christ’s person. Never in religion and the law.

HIS LIGHT OUR LIGHT
Knowing God is the result of being one with God and a willingness to follow Jesus wherever He leads. Jesus is not with us to bolster our kingdom of ideas. He will lead us into His Kingdom, His ideas and His endorsement of Himself and the life that is ours in Him. This is discipleship and sonship.
