THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

INCARNATED AND ANOINTED

Jesus told us not to begin ministry without the baptism of the Holy Spirit for a reason. Without this we have a water pistol. With the anointing we have real weapons. The gifts of the Spirit are rooted in the Greater Gift. Our union with God in the person of Jesus Christ.

ANOINTING ROOTED IN THE ATONEMENT/INCARNATION
Reinhard Bonnke writes “
I fell into a degree of anxiety in my Pentecostal beliefs. I was not aware of it as such. It is something I can see looking back from the perspective of years and experience.

“This anxiety arose from hearing repeated teaching at church about a difference between the “baptism” of the Holy Spirit and other subsequent “fillings” with the Spirit. This teaching was an attempt to deal with the way such a powerful encounter with the Lord could fade and perhaps be renewed again. We grew anxious to keep our Holy Spirit baptism “topped up,” as we called it.

“Ironically, this teaching tended to downplay the element of faith. Rather than trust in the gift that had been given, the insecure believer would storm heaven to obtain a “refilling” of the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, this was our heritage. A great deal of responsibility for seeing the power of God at work in our lives rested squarely on our own shoulders. Thus, a degree of anxiety was present in our worship.” This was misplaced anxiety because the Spirit is always in us and with us.

EUCHARIST IS THE ESSENCE
We must ensure that we do not think signs, wonders and healings are the essence of the Gospel. They are pointers to Christ our life, but they are not the essence or foundation of new creation life. Our already achieved union with God is this foundation. The incarnation of Christ in us is this foundation. This does not come in fits and starts. It is our continual life interwoven with the trinity in the Person of Jesus. You are never separate from Christ. You are included in the fellowship of the trinity.
THE WATER OF LIFE IS CHRIST
Nevertheless, precisely targeted Kingdom action is associated with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. In the last few years, I have concentrated on teaching the incarnation in these posts, having seen that not a few hang out for manifestations, relying on them for a buzz in a form of addiction -  when the trinity lives in us always and is never absent. The result of an imagined absence of the Presence is often the persistence of emotional disease and a crippled spirit. The trinity in us is healing and life within our being.
JESUS IS OUR ONENESS WITH THE TRINITY
This is our Comfort as well as our Kingdom agency. We are always in the Presence.  This Presence is present when we sense no manifest presence. We are never alone.
Leanne Payne who had a fruitful ministry healing the inner lives of many had to learn that the atonement/incarnation was the foundation of our Being and our agency in Christ. She explains this in her books, ‘Real Presence’ and the ‘Healing Presence’.
Manifestations and healing are great but by themselves are not the gospel of the Kingdom. Bonnke is correct when he starts his evangelism with the ABC of salvation before the healings because our already achieved union with God in Christ is the basis of Kingdom life.
So it’s not incarnation or the anointing, gifts and manifestations. It’s both. Bonnke’s efforts for the Lord were precise and targeted accurately because his work takes place at the Spirit’s direction.
