His Kingdom in you and the world

The fruits of the Spirit are the manifestation of Christ as you.

With Christ as your life you will become more than you are. Never smaller than you are. Jesus intention is never to make you are creation of ‘the letter’. He does not aim to make you a bunch of ‘qualities’ which is the interpretation that law-prisoners can place on the gifts of the Spirit. Jesus aims to make you - “you”; to make you yourself as a son of God who rejoices in love and life. he does this by expressing Himself as you.

To define yourself as a collection of qualities, even if they are admirable is, is to make you less than you are – a son/daughter of God. Walking in the light is seeing how to see. Agnosia is the inability to see patterns and discern the whole from the parts. This is the predicament of the old covenant practitioner and the reason she mistakes the letter for the reality that is always a state of being and never a ‘position’. The reality is Christ but never as a religion and not even Christianity. The reality is Christ as you.

The whole is always greater than the sum of the parts. This is particularly so in the Kingdom of God. The raw truth of the incarnation is Christ as us. The dumbing down of this into a ‘christ empowered religion’ is the great scandal of the Christian age. This distorted belief has rightly been called ‘the great darkness.’ It’s the substitution of parts for the whole and the negation of the Kingdom. In a religion of law we never do better than the parts and hence never become whole. You can be holy as God is holy. But not through an agenda of behaviours. There is one way and that way is Christ your life; Christ as you and Christ as us. He graces you with His life as yours and expresses Himself through your being.

‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV. The day we realize this is the day we are holy because God is holy.

Michael Kapler observes,

“The new law of the Spirit of Life brought freedom from the old law of sin, death, and condemnation. This is because we’re not under the first covenant with the commandments that ministered condemnation. The ministry that condemned has been brought to an end. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” (1)

The law of life is Christ’s life as yours. It is simple. It is incarnation. It is the real definition of life in the Spirit.

There is not some ‘good law.’ There is only the law of sin and death. Should we abandon ourselves to the law of sin and death out of misguided conviction, we will be driven to condemn ourselves and others. Or worse. We will ignore, avoid and condemn the truth that could set us free and give us eyes to see.

Law confines us to mediocrity, poor choices, bad management practices and a general dullness verging on stupidity. Law-bondage causes us to develop communities led by clones of delusion. Christ our life fills us with grace and truth, the spirit of wisdom and revelation and an apostolic witness grounded in the Spirit of Sonship. There is nothing apostolic in old covenant religion – ever. It stagnates us in pre-cross living and leaves us vulnerable to the fables of the Enemy posing as sound doctrine. You can live a life of freedom by the Spirit Christ manifest as you – yet you retain your identity and live in unapparelled freedom to shine as yourself. This is true fruitfulness, real spirit and life and Kingdom ministry.
