Unless we have moved into our new covenant union with God we will live in constant dualism. We will live in the illusion that God is somewhere else and that He is in this time and not in that time. We will think that He is in some places and not in other places. We will be captive to the illusion of sacred and secular because we are till prisoners of the knowledge of good and evil with its dichotomies and compartments. But Jesus has ‘made the two one’. This is the essence of the at-one-ment and the meaning of the Lord’s Table - in which His Spirit becomes you.

Unless we understand the new covenant, we will not understand God or ourselves and will have missed out on the achievements of the cross – which stem from the fact that we and Father are one.

How do we worship in spirit and in truth? Christ our life is our worship in spirit and in truth. Jesus is the truth of God and God in person. Jesus is also the truth of you. With Jesus as our life, we are worship.

‘Jesus said to them, "Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you’ John 6.53 NIV.

Humility helps us grow in the wisdom of God. Jesus did not come to hang a distinctive around your neck. Jesus did not come to make your denomination special or you special. He gave His life and lives in us to make everyone special as a daughter and a son. You are the son/daughter you were born to be when Christ is your life and His Spirit manifests as you. Attach yourself to anything external to Jesus and you will more and more become a parody of yourself.

When Jesus assured the woman at the well that where people worshiped was of no consequence, He was alerting her and us to the reality that worship in spirit and truth was the effect of
His life as our life: Not where or when people gathered.

In the post cross age Christ lives in us. The trinity is incarnated in us. We are whole and holy because He is holy. We create spirit, life and righteousness where we are because we are sons of God.

No one gets holy, or righteous because they participate in some externality. The life in you is there because you are part of God and God is part of you. ‘Realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV. In this realization (revelation) we are competent to minister the Kingdom of God.

In the conversation at the well Jesus was implying that His mission would make us one with Father to the same extent that He was one with His Father. But not only this. The life of the trinity in us would become our life and we would become a new creation as a result.

‘The flesh’ is anything that is not Jesus manifesting through us. The flesh profits nothing for the Kingdom. What counts is
Jesus come in our flesh. Now we are ignited with the fact of the incarnation – with the trinity dwelling in our being. WE ARE SONS IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.

You can make a religion out of humbug if you wish. People have been doing it for centuries. When Paul said, ‘Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation’ Gal 6.15, he was alerting us to the end of religiosity and to the start of reality and fruitfulness – the reality of the new age in which Christ Himself becomes our life. He is our life because he is
in us in our flesh and we are in His peace and rest.

Any theology that claims we are made holy by the law is vacuous and a lie.

We are made one with God by God and we are made in the image of God by God imparting Himself to us. Not by rites, stances, observances or pious capers are we made holy. God is incarnated in our being and the spirit of sonship is revealed in our person because He is.

Just as Jesus Christ was the manifestation of His Father, so today you are the manifestation of Jesus – when you believe. In Christ we are sovereign over life and by living as ourselves and doing what we were born to do, we multiply the new creation Kingdom of God. Paul announced, ‘And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ--everything in heaven and on earth’ Eph 1.10 NLT. The right time began at Jesus’ resurrection. The right time for us to live in this healed creation is now.
