Jesus is the Last Adam for a reason. In Christ the two have been made one in Deep Being. The undoing of Adam is basic to our knowing Christ and knowing God in Christ. An exit from the law and its latent separation from God is fundamental to knowing God and Jesus Christ whom God has sent. The law as a generality and the law of Moses specifically are a function of the regime of the knowledge of good and evil that came to us in Adam. Thankfully union with God in a mode closer than before the fall has come to us in Christ – by whom God is woven into us and we are woven into God.

‘For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive’ 1 Cor 15.22 NIV.

We don’t get intimacy with Christ by earning it. We are intimate with Jesus because He has earned it.

Reconciliation is key. “Revelation and reconciliation belong together, so that we cannot think out the mediation of revelation apart from the mediation of reconciliation.. The intertwining of reconciliation with revelation is very apparent in God's interaction with Israel, in which a profound reciprocity between God and human being became established in the mind and worship and the very existence of this people.

“Here we are in touch with a basic principle of knowledge, which is worth taking time to consider. All genuine knowledge involves a cognitive union of the mind with its object, and calls for the removal of any estrangement or alienation.” (1)

Like it or not, when we retain ourselves in the law, we retain ourselves in a mindset of Adamic separation and a Mosaic regime in which separation is not yet undone. This is a tragedy because in Jesus the separation of the fall has been undone and we have this incredible union with God that is Christ’s oneness with Father and Holy Spirit. In Christ we are made alive because in Him we have entered the oneness with God that is the oneness in difference that the trinity enjoy with each other.

Righteousness is not passe when Christ is our life. Not irrelevant because Christ is our grace and in Himself is both our justification and sanctification. We are being re-created in grace and truth into maturing sons and daughters of God because Christ becomes us by the Spirit. The cool thing about a life that is Christ your life is that you do not lose yourself. You gain yourself and grow daily into your real self.

No one ever becomes a nobody in Jesus Christ. You become a living fruit of the Vine that is Jesus.
