WE DONT NEED FICTIONS IN CHRIST OUR LIFE
Christ is with us and in us to impart Himself. He is not a marketer of religion or a protagonist for the law. Jesus is in you to impart Jesus.
It’s a historical and observable fact that some of the busiest and seemingly most charitable Christians have opposed genuine moves of God – possibly because they are too busy gaining entitlement to their salvation. Many Believers live contract/performance orientation because they have been socialised into this. The Christianity that they have absorbed has been a religion rather than an incarnation.
LIFE IS THE STATE OF BEING IN GOD
A feature of busy-busy religion as well-meaning and selfless as it may appear on the surface, is that it can often resist God or oppose more of Him than the few drops already possessed. We get and disburse drops of the water of life in contractual religion and rivers of life when Christ is our life.
Living Water does not come from ‘service.’ Living water comes from branches that are one with the Vine.
‘The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life’ John 6.63 NIV.
Presenting as Godliness ‘service’ can be too preoccupied to enter into Him in depth, because what appears as service to others is often about ourselves, our need for self-validation, self-recommendation to God and our attempt to live from the precepts of the knowledge of good and evil. In other words it’s about us. Life-giving action is Christ expressed as us. This is spirit and life.
Living from externalities dulls us and never multiplies spirit and life. The perpetual rest that is Christ as our life turns all our externalities into spirit and life to multiply the Kingdom.
BOLDNESS BE MY FRIEND
It takes a bold and adventurous person to be open to participation in an unlimited life. A life in rebellion is largely constrained by clichéd pleasures. A deprived religious life is the result of insulation from God by the very religion we cling to. Don’t make the mistake of believing what many others are believing when Jesus is calling us to choose the narrow way of Himself as our life.
Christ our life is not as common as we might hope. It is too often dumbed down into Christianity as our life. The first is our inheritance in our new covenant union with God. The second is religion with a Jesus boost.
ILLUSION OF OPENNESS
A feature of ideologically bound religion is that we find ourselves celebrating open-mindedness and liberalism yet habitually filtering out everything that differs from the compartments in which we have taken refuge. The result is that we have sheltered under the bed from fullness of life. When we repent of our fictions we can enter the substance of Christ our life and live as sons/daughters of God.
