CHRIST YOUR LIFE

THE WHY OF CHRIST AS YOU

How is it that Christ is our life?
That the eternal Son took what was ours that we might have what is his was not merely a central theme in Patristic thought. It lay at the heart of John Calvin’s account of the mirifica commutatio (the wonderful exchange manifest in the incarnate Son) and it would become a central affirmation in the soteriologies of Karl Barth, Hans Urs von Balthazar, and T. F. Torrance and also the many contemporary theologians influenced by them.”(1)

LIVING TRUTH

The vicarious humanity of Christ is Biblical and the legitimate Gospel of the Kingdom. It’s not reductionist and neither is it a modified form of the knowledge of good and evil in Jesus’ Clothes. It’s not Arminianism and not a gospel of works with a Jesus label. Christ our life is the Gospel of Jesus and Believers who are alive with spirit and life.

YOU – THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST

Paul himself .. wrote in personal, Christological terms: “we are justified by the redemption which is ‘in Christ Jesus’ (Rom. 3:24); his resurrection is our justification (4:25); through Christ we receive ‘the gift of righteousness,’ the ‘justification which is life’ (5:17, 18); Christ himself is our righteousness (1 Cor. 1:30); we become the righteousness of God in him (2 Cor. 5:21).”

IT’S UNION WITH GOD

“Bird argues that “imputation” may be legitimately used to express the forensic aspect of justification, it must be recognized that the word itself is not used in the New Testament, where union with Christ is presented as the overarching framework to understand justification.”  (2) Union with Christ is your inheritance and the difference between spirituality and religious conformity. Union with Christ is the means by which we become our true selves as daughters and sons.
