THE REAL MEANING OF THE SOWER IS ABOUT THE NEW COVENANT
The parable of the sower is about receiving in fullness the gift of Kingdom life that is ours in Christ our life. If you have been raised in a culture where Christ’s teaching is regarded as a new form or the law you will instinctively see this as what it is not. The new wineskin is not a new morality. It’s a new way of being alive and as a result a living way of growing in righteousness.
GRUDGING ACCEPTANCE OF CHRIST OUR LIFE
The parable of The Sower is about a desultory adoption of the riches that are ours in the post cross era. It’s not about rooting out immoralities and carnalities from our soil. It's about living in the new covenant and producing Kingdom Fruit. Rocks, stones, weeds and crows are not immoralities. They are assorted refusals to live in the new covenant and the false doctrine originating in the Enemy’s plot to kill the Kingdom seed of Christ our life.
In the sower false doctrine is hinted at obliquely. In the tares it is called out for what it is: Distortions emanating from the father of lies.
In the parable of The Sower, Jesus contrasted those who produce much fruit with those who produced little. The production of religion is not good fruit. A. large system or organization is not automatically life-giving fruit.
In the parable of the tares Jesus contrasts the distribution of life with the multiplication of iniquity. But here the iniquity is sourced in other gospels - distortions of the apostle's teaching that have gained credence and acceptability. But which are mindsets that insulate us from the raw spirituality of the incarnated trinity in us and as us. As branches we are part of Christ. As tares we are pretend representatives of His Kingdom.
Jesus is life in Himself and when He lives in us so are we. We are alive. We are sons. We are spirit and life. We become life-giving spirits. ‘The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life’ John 6.63 NIV.
Jesus came in the flesh so that we could live in the Spirit. To make an impact in the daily swirl we must live in the Spirit. There is nothing impractical about life in the Spirit. It is simply Jesus as our life. This is the only way to strike real blow against degradation in the world. Live in the Spirit as you will birth Kingdom solidity - fruit that lasts. We bear Kingdom fruit because we are one with Jesus, not because we have big plans and are busy.
'I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing' John 15. 5 NIV.
The Kingdom of God is the life lived by the sons and daughters of God. This is the life of those in the Spirit and led by the Spirit to eat of the tree of life. In eating the fruit of this tree they become part of God, joined by the One Spirit in Him to be complete. Jesus is their tree of life and they are the fruit.
A KINGDOM OF WHEAT
'On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you' John 14. 20. To be an apostle is to be interwoven with God in this manner.
We cannot be apostolic as tares. To live in Christ is to live in the new covenant. The authority of a real shepherd comes from being a branch of the tree of life. The trinity is your root and the you are the branch and the fruit. This is the source of the genuinely apostolic. This implies that one cannot be a real shepherd, impart life or be imbued with Father's authority if one lives from the knowledge of good and evil. Christ not Adam, spirit not letter is your source of potency and fertility.
'You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last--and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you' John 15. 16 NIV.
Fruit that lasts is not activity per se. It is action that is sourced in our interwoveness with the trinity.
Truly apostolic people are known by their union with God. Not because they have a big church, a tribe of dependent followers or because they have labelled themselves an apostle. When Paul uses the word 'apostle' he is referring to a personal representatives of Jesus.
A genuine apostle is both a son and a father. A son through union with his Father and a father who mentors sons of God. The fact that tares are labelled by Jesus as sons of the evil one throws an interesting light on certain kinds of apostles.
'A relationship with Father is the result of choosing a life in the Son.'
MERIT IN RIGHT BELIEVING
Union with God comes from intimacy with Jesus and the oneness that is ours from our new covenant life in the Spirit. United with God by the One Spirit we become the expression of His heart and mind. Union with letter, law or performance orientation produces dullness and stagnation. Union with the religious industry produces death just as union with our self-importance smothers our influence for God.
'All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, 'God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble' 1 Peter 5. 5 NIV.
We can spend a life-time attempting to make a convoluted kind of ‘truth’ out of something that is fundamentally a lie. There is an earnest dullness stemming from the lifelessness of the law. But those for whom Christ is life possess an abundant freshness and joy; a child-like innocence with a bright expectation of life that cannot be hidden.
This heaven is the harvest of His cross. Those who live in it are skilled in discernment and readily able to distinguish life from death and the counterfeit from the genuine movement of God.
'Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God' Ephesians 3: 17-19.
