REBORN IN CHRIST INTO GOD AND YOUR TRUE SELF
07/03/24 14:36
The law was a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ. The law, a rendering of that culture called the knowledge of good and evil and named by Paul as the law of sin and death, was a path to the Reality that would be Christ our life – the Living Way in which we would find True Life. This is why Paul stated that reality is Christ and that rites and laws are not – mere shadows of Christ our life. By living in the reality of Christ as us, we can live our lives as sons rather than as shadows of our real selves.
FANTASY RELIGION
Law and an obsession with externalities appears to be of substance. Spiritually this has no substance/ Law-ism and renders its obsessives as ghosts – ghosts of themselves.
Any attachment to the law and religion insulates us from the reality that is Christ our life. You can live in this sub-christian life as a false self with lots of company. But you need to be born again into you true self by agreeing that Christ is your life. Once Christ is our life and religion is not we are born again. We are talking the incarnated life.
SUBSTANCE
We need to know Christ as the reality of our being, so that we do not promote something and nothing as life. When Christ is our life and we have embraced this oneness we are streams of living water rather than a soapy water of dead religion.
We can fill any space, any conference with the knowledge of good and evil. If we are enlightened and born again we can flood it with spirit and life.
OUR PRESENT UNION WITH GOD IS OUR FOUNDATION
We can operate in the gifts in the tree of knowledge and the law but not very successfully. The gifts come into their own when we live in our oneness with God and we are Messengers of spirit and life.
Jesus always ministered spirit and life because He was spirit and life. He and His Father were one because Jesus was a member of the trinity and lived in the oneness of the Holy Family.
Now this is yours. You are included in the Holy Family who live in and with you.
‘Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them’ John 14.23 NIV. Jesus’ teaching is that He and not the law is our life.
EATING HIS FLESH AND DRINKING HIS BLOOD
It is this communion, this oneness with God, ourselves and each other that is ours in Christ. It is a state of being that is more than righteousness. It is a pre-fall union with God and more. We have a post cross oneness of perichoresis. It’s us interwoven into God and God interwoven into us in the being of the triune God. You don’t lose identity hidden in God. You gain it.
ADAM ANNULLED
The enterprise of the trinity has completely undone the ‘Mordor’ that the Enemy created by seducing us into the Fall. You now live in the Fall Undone. You are living in the resurrection which is your communion with God who has made a home in us.
“It is not only the goal of salvation that we are united to Jesus Christ and participate in the Triune life of God, but union with Christ is also the means of our salvation. It is only through Him and in the Holy Spirit that we enjoy the benefits of salvation such as forgiveness, justification, and sanctification. The order is often reversed as if we work ourselves up into union with Christ, but Torrance thinks union with Christ is such an essential element to salvation that every aspect of the Gospel is permeated with it.” (1)
He's right. When we begin with union we are living in the inheritance of the cross and Christ our life.
