God created us in union with Himself. God has given us a new self and a new creation in Jesus Christ by weaving Himself into us and us into Himself.
The law gives illusory substance to spiritual life. It does so because holiness via the law is a patchwork of the knowledge of good and evil. You become the most real once you agree that Christ has come in your flesh to manifest as you.
The best way to make you a phantom of your real self is to get you to live in shadows instead of reality. Every manifestation of the knowledge of good and evil is non-reality.
Reality is Christ.
The war to prevent sonship happening in fullness is promoted by the Enemy. We are warned about this with the words, ‘I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist’ 2 John 1.7.
To continue in the law is the flesh come in the flesh. To live from a mixture of law and spirit is to live a babel of mixture. Christ is your life. This incarnation. It is life in the Spirit of Christ. It is Jesus being expressed as you.
Living from the law and from externalities hollows out our humanity and depletes our sonship, thus inhibiting the advance of the new creation.
REMAINING DEAD WOOD
We can stick to our fundamentals, hold to our perspectives and cling to our laws – yet remain a shadow who we are as sons of God. To be sure we can live in religion but our witness compared to Christ come in our flesh is characterised as something and nothing. It’s possible to minister bits of the knowledge of good and evil, but this lacks, authority, spirit and life and eternal substance.
Don’t live without substance as a shadow of yourself because you have sought ‘rest for human restlessness’ in dualities and externalities. We take on definition, accrue substance and begin entering our real identity, growing in our glory when we agree that Christ is our life. This is our Sabbath rest.
SHADOW TO REAL
Jesus urges, ‘Realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20. Oneness with God is both the destiny of you and the start of the real you. Paul describes his living in Christ His life in Galatians 2.20. Here fleshly Adamic/Mosaic self is dead and our Jesus Christ self is who we are. This is the mystery of life in the Spirit. It’s the only real life.
The incarnation involves God coming among as a man and by the Spirit, Christ weaving Himself into you so that you are a man/woman of God – a son rather than a worker and a slave as Paul says in Galatians. The incarnation is not about ticking doctrinal boxes. It’s a state of being in which Christ in the Spirit manifests in you.
STATE OF BEING SONS
“The Incarnation had nothing to do with theology. It was rather about vulnerability, about letting go, about emptiness, about self-surrender—and none of that is in the head. It was a woman who said yes, so that Jesus could come into the world.” (1)
It’s about you saying yes so that Jesus can come into you and be you. This is life in the Spirit – a life that is totally different to Holy Spirit oil rubbed into our Adamic/Mosaic/ religious life. Different because it is an entirely new wineskin. This is a new wineskin that is all spirit and life and entirely substantial. It builds the church made without human hands that in turn becomes the new creation. This is the fuller meaning of heaven invading earth.
Live with substance by living in the Spirit. People who live in the law don’t live in the Spirit. People who live in the spirit exceed the law as a mountain exceeds a grain of sand. In the law we are always smaller on the inside than we are on the outside. In The Spirit we are larger on the inside than we are on the outside. Infinity is like that.
