IN HIS LIFE YOU BECOME THE EXPRESSION OF YOU
The Kingdom of God knows nothing of hierarchy, manipulation and control or self-entitlement as a result of position. This is why God didn’t want Israel to have a king, even though He let them have their way. He is not a control freak or a micro-manager as those steeped in law culture think. The genius of the Kingdom Jesus began is incarnation – Christ come in the flesh of ordinary people; people who as ordinary folk have much potential when they realise that all they have to do is be themselves in Christ.
Being yourself in Christ is being you in Jesus – not attempting another renovated you in religion.
TO REIGN IN THIS LIFE
Thus Lewis writes in The Magicians Nephew. “When she looked at the Lion she didn’t feel quite so sure it was a dream, yet for some reason she did not appear to be very frightened. Then she dropped a little half curtsey, as some country girls still knew how to do in those days. After that, she went and put her hand in the Cabby’s and stood there looking round her a little shyly. “My children,” said Aslan, fixing his eyes on both of them, “you are to be the first King and Queen of Narnia.” The Cabby opened his mouth in astonishment, and his wife turned very red.” (1)
IN YOUR AUTHORITY
In Jesus Christ you become monarchs of yourself.
‘He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen’ Rev 1.6 NLT.
Aslan added, ‘ If you are a plumber you will reign in your authority as a plumber. If you are a theologian you will reign in your authority as a theologian. You will not be a plumber because you have a Stilson Wrench in your tool box and you will not be a theologian because you are a plumber with a Bible. You will reign as who you are.’
