His Kingdom in you and the world

Bob said to George, ‘Your different to me.’ George was different to Bob, but not for the reason that Bob thought. George was different because he lived in the new covenant and Bob lived in the old.

‘What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!’

Romans 7.24.25 NIV. It’s a sad condition to belong to this body of death because you have made it your religion. What is the body of death? It an old covenant, law bound life in dead Adam. Your real life is Christ your life – the life that is you in the body of Christ, better known as this body of life.

Christ your life is your new covenant life. Christ and the law is a false christ and a distorted gospel.

The meaning of the Lord’s Table – the lesson of eating the bread and drinking the wine is that this food becomes our flesh and blood. It means that Christ by incarnating Himself in us becomes us. The trinity lives in George, Mildred and Mavis, along with Cedric and James.

Because God is woven into you by the Spirit, God manifests in your flesh, your soul your spirit and your body. Thus you become the Body of Christ. You can ignore this and puddle along as this body of death. But you are delivered from it, if you are living in your inheritance and not just living from a piece of it.

‘The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life’ John 6.63 NIV. The flesh is the law. Once we have agreed that we have been drawn into Jesus we are personally spirit and life.

It’s true that ‘The dead know not anything’ for the spiritually dead do not know they are not alive. We are alive when Jesus is us. He is us when we believe He is and step in to Him. We have stepped into Him and He is our life when we choose to live in the realisation that ‘I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV.

‘And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself’ John 12.32 NIV.

It is Jesus who attracts people. He attracts because He is who God is and because He is grace and life. Jesus is always different from religion meaning that He is always relevant, free of humbug and totally separated from self-serving rationalisation. Jesus is not here so that you can make an identity out of your denomination. He is here so that you have an identity in Him. This is spirit and life.

‘But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!’ Gal 1.8 NIV.

In Jesus we will always get more than we could imagine. In ‘mistaken gospels’ and deviant revelations, what is touted as an improvement produces cultures of cripples in the name of God. We are robbed because as Paul warns, all other gospels baptise us into a curse. Because of this there are cursed individuals and cursed communities of faith.

Jesus declared, ‘Those who eat me will live because of Me.’ They will live in the fullness of themselves every day and grow in their spirit soul and body throughout their life. He also said ‘Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you.’ Thus He taught the new covenant in which He Himself is the life of Bob and Mabel, the church and the Kingdom of God.

“Crucial to this experience of ours in the Spirit is the inherent relation in Being and Act between the Spirit and the Son: for us to be in the Spirit or to have the Spirit dwelling within us means that we are united to Christ the incarnate Son of the Father, and are made through this union with him in the Spirit to participate, human creatures though we are, in the Communion which the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit have among themselves and are in themselves.” (1)

The Spiritually dead do not know that they are dead. They may work for the Lord and even heal in His name. But they are dead in their spirit and lame in the souls and unaware of it because of the opiate of religion. Holy Spirit and the gifts may lead to Christ but they are not a substitute for our union with Christ. Union is the source and proper functioning of the gifts.

Where there is no incarnation there is no life and where there is no life there is but a husk of the new creation and the non-realisation of the Kingdom of God. Richard Rohr writes,

“We all want resurrection in some form. And I do believe “the raising up of Jesus” (which is the correct theological way to say it because it was a relational meaning between Jesus and God, and not a self-generated “I can do this”) is still a potent, focused, and compelling statement about what God is still and forever doing with the universe and with humanity.” (2) He’s doing it with you and with all of us. The ‘blessed hope’ starts in this life and continues into the next.
