CHRIST YOUR LIFE

ALL OF LIFE IS YOURS IN CHRIST

glorytoglory.001

We can have infinite life or we can promote bits and pieces as if they are life. God has given us a whole, holy, integrated and fulsome life. This is not a something and nothing life. It is life to the full. It is life in the alpha and omega of Jesus. It is life that is both a Sabbath rest and a life of continual creativity. We no longer live in the compartments and fragments of the knowledge of good and evil. Today we live in God.

SPIRITED AND WHOLE

Life in the Spirit is also life to the full. This is the life that is not only opposite to the life-withering effect of the knowledge of good and evil. It is whole life. It is original life. It is life that is infinite and eternal. The life of God is all encompassing. It simply is. And you have been immersed in it. You are an expression of this life. In it you are alive, alight and you see things as they are - not through the distortions and fragmented lenses of the various facets of good and evil.

SHADOWS

The law of Moses was a shadow of the real. Yet it was un-whole and non-real because it was part of Adam's domain based on a lie. It was a life of parts that those in it could mistake for the whole. Completeness came with Christ. The lure of life in the law and its old covenant compartmentalization is that it suggests wholeness. There is
a soulish attraction to fundamentalisms and the apparent solidities of the law that is entirely a spiritual mirage. But the law and old covenant mentality can only deliver parts, bits and pieces. It can give the illusion of righteousness while delivering only religiosity. It can produce an impression of godliness while permitting us to live mainly for self but with Jesus added. The new wine was not the coming of salvation. Salvation was promised and had always been coming. The new wineskin is the new covenant in which Christ is our life and our action. The new covenant is incarnation.

SHADOW TO REAL

‘These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ’ Col 2.17 NIV.

Christ leads to our Father and the infinity of heaven’s life. He does not lead to the law or the Old Testament. Thus, in Christ we become more than we are at present. In performance mode we are reduced, we become less than we are and often live in the illusion that this is Godliness. Don’t be among those who lie under an upside down cross.

HAGAR OR BRIDE OF CHRIST?

‘Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children’ Gal 4.25 NIV.

There is no new creation life in the law or the old covenant. There is no life in it period. God cannot be known as He is from an old covenant perspective. Neither can we enjoy intimacy with Jesus from this position. This is a case of being imprisoned by our own thoughts when
what we need is God’s plan and the mind of Christ.

DUALISM AND CONTRACT

In a revisionist mindset we remain in religious dualism, separated from God and from ourselves. Life in the Spirit is life with the trinity. Life in the Spirit is the Holy Spirit, the Father and the Son resting in us. We enjoy their imparted rest and absorb their community. The new covenant is not an ingenious way of doing the law. Christ ‘fulfilling’ the law and the prophets is not a clever way of doing the law with Jesus. It is Jesus Himself as you. It's Christ our life. It is Christ in us. It is the Holy Family in residence in our being, drawing us into their life and imparting their life into ours. We are the branches to God’s vine.

THERE WAS NO LAW BEFORE THE FALL AND THAT IS NONE AFTER THE CROSS

‘Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was’ 2 Cor 3.7 NIV.

GLASS CEILING

People wonder why they have received the Holy Spirit yet live a largely stagnant life. There are folks who come into the Holy Spirit and then hit a glass ceiling. There is no advance and they begin to stagnate and go over and over old stuff. They have not left behind the old covenant to become a new creation. Like the ancient mariner stranded in a sea of reeds the law hangs around their neck as an omen of death.

ROOTED IN ONENESS

We can remain a fragmented self and suffer fractured relationships for the same reason. We are seeking life in death. We may start with a Holy Spirit bang and end in a whimper because our anointing has no root. The seed of Kingdom infinity has been choked by the weeds of old covenant thinking and the rocks of the law.

FOOT NOTE RELIGION

With circumcision one can designate a piece of oneself, but live pretty much for ourselves in the remainder of our flesh. With tithing we can give a tenth of our income yet focus most of our attention on ourselves and spend most of our effort on our own advancement. Where a Sabbath is concerned we can spend most of our time on our preoccupations and think we are doing Jesus a favor by giving Him a day. But does He have our life? Jesus has given us His life. He is our life. But are we His. Or do we have an arrangement in which we are the book and He is the footnote?

A PERICHORESTIC LIFE

Galatians 2.20 is the end of Adam and the beginning of us in Christ. This is Christ our life, Christ our life in the new creation; Christ as us in wholeness and a unified soul; Christ our life in spirit and in truth. This is the upwelling of the infinite fountain that is Jesus our life. If we are promoting a gospel of law we are thieving from ourselves and robbing others. But you are called to be a messenger of life unto life.

‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full’ John 10.10 NIV.
