Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

PET DOCTRINES

When Jesus breathed on the disciples, this was no merely religious motion. This was re-breathing creation – the creation of the new humanity in Christ. That which had been originally done to Adam was re-enacted to signify a totally new era of forgiveness and multiplied life through the indwelling Jesus.

‘The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that HE BREATHED ON THEM AND SAID, “RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven’ John 20.20-23

Christ is all and in all. He encompasses all there is and more. All that exists finds its life and purpose in Him. When Christ is our life we impart His life to any person or thing we touch. We impart life to creation. When we attempt to utilise aspects of creation like sacralising times and places, garments and patterns, we muffle the connection between ourselves and Christ and become subject to death rather than life. This is why as Christians we can have parts of our spiritual body whole and others gangrenous. Jesus gives us complete life. He makes us completely whole. We are completely alive in Him which is why Paul says, ‘Christ is our life.’

So, ‘No, Jemima. It’s not ok to live in a degree of death just because this is your cultural identity or denominational perspective.’

We have just had Easter and celebrated the re-birth of the human race and ourselves. We have left behind dead Adam and the fruit of the lying tree and entered the life of Jesus, the new Adam and Father of the human race. We are now sons of God in spirit and in truth – not merely notionally or poetically. The reality of you being you is that your reality and the nature of your being is Christ.

‘Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan’ Eph 1.11 NLT.

Religion is riddled with the assumptions of the law. Stop living in this
taint of death. It muddies who you are and dulls your spiritual discernment. Don’t settle for less. Hop out of your old covenant grave – you are out anyway – and be who you are in Christ. The genius of the plan revealed and made actual in Jesus is that you become remade in His image and in your own. You have been reborn as a son/daughter to be you in SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.

‘For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive’ 1 Cor 15.22 NIV.

For those who have been indoctrinated and encased in law – know this.
Performance is not God’s obsession. It never has been. His passion is YOU! But wait. There’s more. All of us are the new Eve! We have come out of Jesus’ side. As such we are part of Jesus and we are His Wife. We are one with Him and bear fruit to Him. We are the wife of Christ. We share in His being and we share His heart.

‘I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him’ 2 Cor 11.2 NIV.

Francois Du Toit writes of our union with Jesus ..

Now if all were included in his death they were equally included in his resurrection. This unveiling of his love redefines human life! Whatever reference we could have of ourselves outside of our association with Christ is no longer relevant. [Law addicts take note]

This is radical, and our most defining moment! No label that could possibly previously identify someone carries any further significance! Even our pet doctrines of Christ are redefined. Whatever we knew about him historically or sentimentally is challenged by this conclusion. (By discovering Christ from God’s point of view we discover ourselves and every other human life from God’s point of view!

Paul sees by revelation that what Jesus redeemed in every person brings absolute closure and death to any other reasoning and judgment we may have had of ourselves or anyone else for that matter! This is our metanoia moment! From now on therefore, we no longer know anyone according to the flesh, even though we once knew Christ from a human and religious point of view.
’ [2 Corinthians 5:15-16]
