Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

Jesus’ burden is easy and His load is light. It is far simpler than religion would have it. This is because it is a Jesus life where ‘He is us’ rather than us doing a whole lot of things we see as being Christian. To be a Christian is not necessarily to be part of what Jesus began. This is because we may have reverted or never understood what God did for us in Jesus.

He ended our life in Adam and began a our life in Himself. This is to say He began a life in which we and God are one and our life is the expression of this union.

Since the cross and Pentecost all have had the capability of being indwelt by the Spirit of Christ and living each day as the manifestation of God’s sons and daughters. Yet possibly most live from religion – which is to say most are living from Christianity rather than Christ their life. The difference between the former and the latter is the difference between living from the knowledge of good and evil and living in God.

There is a striking difference between the Kingdom of God and all other faiths. The Kingdom of God is not a religion. It is the person of Jesus Christ living through you and manifesting in us all as the church Jesus builds without human hands. You may suspect that the church built by the hands of flesh is much different to the church built by Jesus hands of the Spirit.

When Paul spoke of our deliverance from the law he was not speaking only of people being set free from the Ten Commandments. This is too narrow a view. His liberty applied to all who would continua to seek to live from anything that is not Jesus – like from religious observances. Christ is our life because nothing else is alive.

The law was for the Jews. It was a schoolmaster to lead to Christ. Once the Christ appeared, the law was old hat. You have a new hat now. The new and living way of the new covenant where Christ is your life. Now by the Spirit Christ would manifest Himself through you. By the Spirit it is accurate to say that Jesus manifests as you. No we are not little deities. However we are sons of God. If we understood this more maybe we would be delivered of the trivialities of religion.

There is no old testament rite that is not negated by the person of Jesus in you. The law led to the Christ. But He does not lead to the law – only to more of Himself. The key to greater holiness is never more zeal for the law. This comes from resting more in the fullness of Jesus.

There is an order in the new creation that is the person of Jesus manifest in people and nature. But it is not written as list. Called the law of the spirit of life it is simply Christ who is all and in all extending His resurrected life over all.

Some Believers are always looking to some form of organisation to the give them life. Their journey is a trail from church to church, always hoping but never satisfied. They would do better to agree that Christ is their life and impart this life to themselves and organisations. The person attempting to live from icons like ‘community’ or from some new invention of the church is just as much under the law as one who remains under Moses’ laws.

Life in the Spirit will not grow from the rocks of the law. Nor will to spring out of religion. This life is yours because by Jesus you are rooted in the trinity and the trinity is manifesting in you.

‘I in them and you in me--so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me’ John 17.23 NIV.

Many believers focus on the last part and strive to be one with each other. But the key here is the first part of the verse for life and for unity. The fact that God is in us and we are in God is community itself. Here is the source of the healing of the soul and of humanity.

The life of God starts in the trinity and ends up in you – because you and Father are one. This is the source of your wholeness as a human being. Also source of the anointing and the gifts. Kingdom life will not grow from law because in law we have placed ourselves in separation from God when He says, ‘I have made you one with Myself.’ A ‘spiritual gifts’ culture based on an old covenant mind-set cannot sustain itself because it has no root. The Kingdom of God grows out of the trinity because as sons you have been made part of the Holy Family. You belong. You are included in the Family of God. You now have the spirit and life of sons – not the drollness of slaves and workers attempting to overcome their separation from God by works of the law.

‘Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them’ John 14.23 NIV.
