Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

Some people have peculiar ways. Not because they are bonkers but because they have socialised into a mean and often severe version of the gospel. These are ‘other gospels’ in that they are a distortion of the life and teaching of Jesus and the gospel of Paul who spoke of ‘My Gospel.’ This was not actually his gospel but the gospel of Christ that he was called by Jesus to unwrap. It’s significant that a convinced legalist was chosen to reveal life in the Spirit. Paul was called to unpack the implications and the fullness of what Father had accomplished in His Son. He declared the old age of Adam dead and revealed for all to see the new age of spirit and life in the person of Jesus.

The new testament (covenant) is not a modification of the old. It is a radical departure that moves us from religion to Kingdom and from death to life. In Adam all are dead. In Christ all are made alive. This is why we must enjoy Christ as our life and not live in the stuff. The ‘stuff’ is the shadow. Christ Himself is the reality. Paul used the words. ‘Christ our life’ because only this life is eternal, real and glorious.

‘When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory’
Col 3.4 NIV.

The reigning perversion of the gospel of the Kingdom is ‘mixture.’ This is a blend of old and new covenant that is light on the incarnation (the presence of God in us) and big on separation – the notion that we remain separate from God where we must earn union with God by self-effort - like praise and worship.

Praise and worship is good. But not because we are separate from God. Because we are in God! Since the cross there has been no separation – just union. On account of Jesus as representative of our Father there is no holy place other than where we presently are. No holy time other than the moment we are currently rejoicing in because Christ is in us and we are in Him. No holy food other than Jesus Himself who is the bread of life who we are eating because we are living in Him. There are no holy garments other than the clothes that are Jesus Himself as our grace. He is everything that is required pertaining to our relationship with God, ourselves, other people and the earth. There is no Holy ministry other than the privilege of being yourself in Christ and releasing spirit and life as a true son and daughter of God. No we don’t all have to be Mother Theresa. Father is pleased when we operate as real sons, revealing that aspect of our father that we were born into the earth to represent.
[We live in] one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life’ Heb 7.16 NIV.

We are part of this indestructible life. In a separation mindset we can make all kinds of pious utterances and religious motions that have no eternal effect. In union with God and living in the reality that we and Father are one – everything we do has import for the present and the future because we are fountains of living water.
