Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

DIVINE

divine3.201
An enthusiastic middle-aged man once urged me to receive the gifts of tongues. This he believed would put the finishing touch on my relationship with God. Sadly, in his discourse I observed that it hadn’t done much for him. Resignation was all over him and he was without vision and without real hope – and certainly not overflowing with spirit and life. The SPIRIT AND LIFE that ignited Jesus’ words came not from the anointing but from His union with Father. It was the fact that Jesus and Father were one that He lived the anointing. In the new covenant our life is never found in some observance or even in a gift of the Spirit. Our life is totally due to the fact that we and Father are one. This is the Source firstly of our wholeness and secondly of the gifts.

‘My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me’ John 17.20-21 NIV

Why is it that many do not experience inner healing and wholeness even when they become Spirit-filled and experience the gifts of the Spirit? It is because they have not entered their inheritance of union with God. There is a barrier separating them. Life with the gifts is the effect of our union with God. Not union itself. The atonement and incarnation are the medium of our ONENESS with God. This union – the spirit of sonship – effects our healing and provides the Spirit without limit.
The mind of Christ is that He and Father are one. The mind of Jesus is that you and He are one resulting in the fact that you and our Father are one. It is important to have the mind of Christ and not our own mind because our beliefs create the reality in which we live. A typically religious mind is that we are in separation and have to ‘do something to deserve and achieve union with God. No way. He has made us one. In the same way that we all became sinners through Adam, we all became sons through Jesus.

‘For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive’ 1 Cor 15.22 NIV. Here we see that if we are Spirit-filled we remain dead if we are still in the mindset of old covenant Adam.
We need to have the mind of Christ and our Father rather than be living in our own veils and our twisted projections of god onto God. There is more than one way of possessing a false christ. It’s living in the subtleties and insinuations of the Enemy that we have absorbed and received as ‘truth.’
Should we live from a performance outlook or from the law, we will have created a barrier between ourselves and God, a barrier that is not there in reality but is there in our minds. In our minds the at-one-ment is vitiated and the incarnation is annulled. We have robbed the cross of its power. So live in the mind of Christ and His new covenant glory.

THE DIVINE NATURE
“I AM” is the state of being enjoyed by God. God is completely whole, entirely God and three persons in one. All for one and one for all, the Holy Family live distinct as themselves yet in joyful communion with each. Their peace and delight was not to clutched to themselves. They desired to share what they had and created us to be part of their life.
Newly minted Adam and Eve as son/daughter of God were part of this life. To say they were part of the divine nature means that they experienced the joy of being completely themselves yet one with each other and one with God in similar manner to the joy of the trinity. To say that a man and a woman on marriage become one flesh is to say that marriage is an expression of the life of the trinity. This is why Jesus said to believe in Him means that this Trinitarian life with all its joy of individuality and togetherness becomes present in person in our being.
As sons of our Father Adam and Eve were junior I am’s. They were entirely themselves in the spirit of sonship because they were in and participating in our Father’s spirit and life.
SOURCE OF WHOLENESS
Before the fall, Adam and Eve lived in ultimate well-being. They lived free from fear, nourished by inclusion and uncontrived belonging. Theirs was total innocence, transcendent peace and robust self-confidence. They had total love and total life. They were whole. Why was this? One with Father they were one with His creation and one with themselves. They lived in union with God. They were whole and were free to ‘be.’ That is, to ‘be themselves’ and live in their glory. With the fall came separation, disintegration of the self, the faulty responses we know as sin and inevitable death of the body. No wonder Jesus lives to bring all things together in Himself.

And through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross’ Col 1.20 NIV.
‘And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ--everything in heaven and on earth’ Eph 1.10 NLT.
In the introduction to Across All Worlds, Bruce Wauchope writes,
‘The chief landmarks [in humanity] encountered are fear, rejection, guilt, trauma, and their various shameful combinations, covered in layers of defence mechanisms. These blended emotions are woven as threads through our states of being and are involved in both the actions and reactions of our lives.’

This is the state of our BEING IN ADAM which is the state of our life when we live in the mindset of old covenant separation and the dualism between the ‘is’ and the ‘should be.’ In new covenant reality we ‘are whole’ because Jesus has made the two one. Our separation wound is healed. There is no separation between the real and the ideal. The ideal IS US because we and Father are one. We need not ‘keep close to Jesus.’ He has entered our life. He is with us and in us. Christ is OUR LIFE as Paul urges. We are the righteousness of God in Christ. We are one with God. Christ is in you and more: The trinity resides in you. Now by the ONE SPIRIT the life of God manifests in you flesh.

The knowledge of good and evil – Adam’s existence is the product of separation from God. It comes from separation and multiplies separation. The law of Moses is a sub-section of this separation from life and aptly called the law of sin and death. The law of the spirit of life is the person of Christ and His joining of all to life itself with the positioning of each of us in the womb and hub of the universe – the family of God.

Here we participate in the divine nature. Here we have access to the Spirit without limit. Here we are bathed in life and healing. Here with and in Father we are nurtured as sons of God. Christ has not only come in our flesh. We have been positioned in the Spirit of God. Here we are healed, made whole, our identity is imparted and we and Father are one. We do only what Father is doing and only what He means us personally to be doing. We are fruitful trees of spirit and life!
