Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

DESPISE

Father is better than most of us imagine in the mind of religion. In the mind of Christ we know who Jesus is, what He has accomplished for us and who we are as a result. The summary of who we are is that we are the sons and daughters of God. The fullness of our transcendence of pedestrian religion is that Christ manifests as us. Paul called this Christ our life.
It’s the fact of the incarnation and the reality of the new covenant - a covenant that we are all invited to live in if we are to avoid burying our inheritance in the ground and saying. ‘You are a hard man.’ Paul went on to coin a phrase that expressed the reality of the new and living way that is Christ from first to last: CHRIST OUR LIFE. Here Paul tells of our putting to death by God in the life of Adam and our raising to infinite life in the person of Jesus. Our life is now Christ and we are enfolded in the presence of God, which is to say we are alive and present in the fellowship of the trinity.
‘For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory’ Col 3.3,4 NIV.
THIS GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM
The glory that is now ours is the glory of the sons and daughters of God. In this glory we manifest Father’s glory as a son and we do all that He planned for us to do – by being our real and unique selves. This is to say we are a unique expression of Jesus and our Father living to our true design and alive with His Spirit and Life. The glory of God is to be who He is and to be perceived as His loving and gracious self. Our glory is to be who we are so as to fulfil our destiny as ourselves. This state of being – the state of being sons of God – is ours when we live in our new covenant inheritance of Christ our life.
While this is not obvious to the religious mind it is clear to the mind of Christ and those who have His mind. You have His mind if you are one with Him in the Spirit, never if you are attached to the law. Here we can have His religion but not His mind – which is unfortunate because His Kingdom is not a religion. It is Him! It is Jesus manifest first in you and then in the world. I am talking about the difference between old covenant living and new covenant glory – This is the difference between a live person and a mummy.
BEYOND DULLNESS AS A WAY OF LIFE
If you really do not know what the difference is between the new covenant and the old
you need to find out – if you are serious about the spirit of sonship and living in it. Many Christians live from the old covenant and as a result live a muffled version of themselves. Others live in mixture, striving for the union with God that is already theirs. Unfortunately a large amount of Christian religion consists of a passionate striving for that which already belongs to us and is in our possession. You need not live in this miasma and you wont if you live in the Lord and the Spirit of Liberty and Truth.
‘But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom’  2 Cor 3.14-17 NIV.
Last week I began reading an account of how one of my relatives, a good woman who left mainstream Christianity to adopt a variety of fundamentalism based on law and judgment. Convinced this was a new revelation, she adopted this retrograde gospel as a result of ‘Bible studies.’ Bizarre and absurd teachings are often based on what is claimed as ‘Bible truth.’ In these Bible Studies, scriptures can joined together in a way that appears legitimate but which denies all God achieved for us in Jesus. If ever there was proof that Jesus is the lens through which the Bible must be interpreted, this was it. There was no ‘Jesus lens’ here. By God’s grace she was able to do some good things. But what we do for the Kingdom in old covenant as compared to the new is the difference between drips of water and rivers of living water.
THE LIVING WORD
There is no substitute for the word of God. This word is Jesus, the person of God. The Bible is not the Living Word in this sense. Jesus is. The Bible is subordinate to Him and subservient to Him. In Jesus the whole world, including the Bible finds its meaning and purpose. Jesus is not interpreted by the Bible. The Bible is interpreted in Him. This is the Jesus lens.
In Jesus you will find the meaning of yourself and your circumstances. You cannot understand the big or the small picture unless you are in Him. ‘In Him’ is not living to Christian performance. ‘In Him’ is Jesus manifesting as your life.
To live in Christ is to have the advantage of His personal revelation of Himself into your heart. You will know Him as He is. Not as He has been distorted by religion, by non-gospels posing as truth or by your fearful soul. This continual revelation of Himself will free you to live innocently and joyfully in union with Father. Here you are authentically a son and truly a witness to His glory and yours. There are people who talk of advancing from glory to glory. But they never do. They stall and shrink. They try to unfold His gospel within the fishbowl of ‘their gospel.’ Other’s advance into new realms of freedom and glory in the knowledge of Father and themselves. Because Jesus really is sovereign in their life. You can be a son in religion or you can be a son in spirit and in truth.
SUBSTITUTE GOSPELS
Don't accept substitutes. These take the form of negation of the new covenant, try harder gospels and hybrid gospels were Jesus is adjudged to enable us to keep the law. Jesus lives in us by the Spirit to reproduce Himself in us. As we eat Him HE BECOMES US. This s the church Jesus builds without human hands.
Francois Du Toit quotes from the Mirror Bible.
"Make sure that you become no one’s victim through empty philosophical intellectualism and meaningless speculations, moulded in traditions and repetitions according to man’s cosmic codes and superstitions and not consistent with Christ. It is in Christ that God finds an accurate and complete expression of himself, in a human body! (While the expanse cannot measure or define God, his exact likeness is displayed in human form. Jesus proves that human life is tailor-made for God!) Jesus mirrors our completeness and endorses our true identity. He is “I am” in us. (God packaged completeness in “I am,” mirrored in you! We are not dealing with “I used to be”, or “I’m striving to be”; we are celebrating, I am”!) [Colossians 2:8-10] Mirror Bible.
