CHRIST YOUR LIFE

His life as your life

ONE WAY TO KNOW YOURSELF

The straight and narrow way is more straight than many think. It is narrow in that it is nothing of religion. It is the way because it is all of Christ and nothing of routines and rites. In the Kingdom, Christ is in you. You and your life is the sacrament. This is why the Lord’s Table is the core emblem of the new testament age. In the Spirit we eat Him and in the Spirit He becomes you and I, Bob and Jim, Marge and Mabel. Multiplied in us all we become the new creation. This is what John called, ‘Christ come in the flesh.’

‘To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory’ Col 1.27 NIV. Your glory is to be who you are in Christ, which is
the you that you are when you agree with Jesus, Paul and John that He is your life.

LIFE SOURCE

Biblical Scholar Stephen Crosby writes, “
I believe that the Christ-Act is the interpretive filter for every word, phrase, or thought in scripture--from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21-Jesus is the Word of God. If we have seen Him we have seen the Father. He is the express image of the invisible God. He is the One who has accurately revealed the Father, unlike everyone who ever went before Him who did not accurately understand God, including the Jewish patriarchs. Christ is the interpretation of scripture. He is our standard and measure. Our understanding and application of old covenant scripture must be adopted, adapted, or rejected based on what we see in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.” (1)

The Christ of God is not clearly seen in the old testament but revealed in the new. Even then the words of the NT cannot reveal Him in full. He reveals Himself. The Son of God is revealed as Himself in fullness directly to your spirit through God’s incarnation in you. The Word of God is a person – not words on paper.

‘For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart’ Heb 4.12 NIV. But this judging is never about condemnation. It’s about bringing our knowledge of God into alignment with God’s knowledge of Himself. Jesus said that ‘eternal life’ is to know God. This infinite life flowing with spirit and discernment is ours when we desire to know God as He is regardless of our present ideas.

In Jesus we see our Father. In Jesus we also see who we are. In Jesus we become who we are. In Jesus we become sons and daughters in spirit and in truth. Not just notionally as figures of the letter as do those whose being has been formed in the law and the knowledge of good and evil. In Jesus we are the ever advancing sons and daughters of God.

SEE WHAT GOD SEES

Joseph Prince writes, ‘
Jesus Himself has already paid the price for your sins, so stop condemning yourself! Today, when you look into the mirror, what do you see? Do you see yourself trapped in all your failings, mistakes, and sins? Or do you see what God sees? My dear friend, when God sees you today, He sees Jesus. Use your eyes of faith and believe that as Jesus is, so are you. In God’s eyes, you are righteous, you are favoured, you are blessed, and you are healed.’

Jesus really does save us from our sins. But sin consciousness is not Jesus’ obsession and neither need it be ours. Accept Jesus washing of your being. But grow into the real deal which is Jesus as your life. You are a being that was born of God. You came forth from the trinity. You are a son who is redeemed of God. You are certified as belonging as a son by the blood of Jesus and the enterprise of the trinity. The fullness of God is in you and with you.

Your part is to let what God has accomplished for you,
be you by worshiping Jesus – not religion, law or an intellectualised Christian routine. Christ is your life and in Him you will be alive in your spirit, soul and body. You will be you and a member of Christ’s Body because you have agreed and realised that ‘I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV.
