Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

The Spirit of God in you is everything. The Spirit of God as you is His Kingdom in the world. The life of this Kingdom is for all – not just for the deserving or the entitled. You receive it because you have chosen Jesus as your life. Or more to the point because He has chosen you to be a manifestation of His person – a son/daughter of God.

You are not a participant in the divine nature because you keep the law or stick to a moral agenda. You are a spiritual being because your being is interwoven with God.

‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14,20

The vibrancy and life of Christ’s Kingdom is fresh and dynamic, revealing life unto life. Not so the kingdoms of men. The kingdoms of the un-believing world minister un-life. It is a fact the large corporations and small, together with private business benefit many. The IT industry has made my life more creative. The internet and blogs have made it possible to subvert confusion with life-giving principles and radical truths. The Kingdom of God can expand on the back of modern technology.

Genuine apostles represent the new and living way.
They are messengers of new creation life. Jesus does not encourage us to heal people and raise the dead as an adjunct to the world we already have. He heals the sick and raises the dead because He intends to raise a dead world. The dysfunctional and perverse world in which we live was put to death in Adam. Don’t retard the new creation by restricting it to some healings in the mall when His plan is an entire new creation!

Jesus has become a door to take us back to God, to make a life in God. A Christianized version of the knowledge of good and evil is not the Kingdom of God. Jesus did not side with the rich. Institutionalized religion eventually killed Him, just as it can kill spiritual life today.

Despite Christ’s resurrection, most of the world still lives in a cupboard with itself, thrashing about in the knowledge of good and evil. Is this because much of Christianity lives the same way? As Believers we need to decide if Christ is our life or if we are our life.

I have seen enterprises that are imaginative and life-giving. I rejoice at the ingenuity of some of the farmers that I see on ABC’s Country Wide. They have a passion for producing choice food in innovative ways. But while much of business may see itself as a benefactor there is also much about it that is parasitic. The tenor of the world system is to suck up human and material resources and turn them into money and power. The condition of the world and the church is not initially caused by wrong policy. It is caused by a wrong state of being; a spiritual dysfunction at the heart of humanity that can absorb us in self-interest or avarice, even in the name of God.

God has a servant heart, a sacrificing heart; a heart so loving that even when we deny and betray Him, His love is not abated. Heaven does not exist so that we can be its servants. Heaven, by which I mean, Father, Son and Holy Spirit with the angels, lives to share its life with us and serve us. Love is life-giving and life multiplying. (Did you know that Satan and demons love death because they are absorbed in and fascinated with all that is un-life? This is there culture). God’s love and servant heart is seen in giving Himself in the form of His son for the sake of the world.

Ministry that proceeds from an obsession with sin, from the need to save the self, justify the self and authenticate the self cannot be life-giving. It is motivated by something external to us – an attempt at a justifying, performance criteria that dims who we are in the very act of attempting self-realization. IN self-justification mode our ministry is an attempt to draw life from the needy because we need to be needed. We are positioned to give the water of life when we know that we already belong.

Crucified with Christ can seem like a religious burden. But not when He is our life. In Him we have been made dead to the need to validate and justify the self. And we are authenticated by His life. He is our life. The false selves have been shed. The imitation selves that are masks made by the father of lies fall off and we are who we are – a new creation, authentically we are our own man/woman in spirit and in truth. A born again person minsters life without contrivance, free of impeding motivations, delivered from the handicap of self interest and the need to prove something to himself or to God. She is simply who she is, simply herself, reaching out in freedom and innocence to touch another with the life of God. This is ministry in the Spirit rather than in the flesh.

The beauty of living as sons and daughters rather than as a self-oriented worker is that we are liberated to be ourselves, not someone else. We minister as Father intends, not as others intend for us and we are set free from cajoling and manipulation. No longer need we feel impelled to get others doing what God intended for us to do. We are doing what Father is doing because He is alive in us through His Son.

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit’ John 6.63 NASB.
