CHRIST YOUR LIFE

His life as your life

MARRIED OR CO-HABITING

‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV. The day you realise this is the day you are born again.

‘Perichoresis’ is a strange word. It summarises our state of being in God and that is overflowing with divine/human potential.

C Baxter Kruger observes that, “
Through the work of Jesus, we have been adopted into the Trinitarian life. The concept of perichoresis helps us understand what our adoption means for us. We could define perichoresis as “mutual indwelling without loss of personal identity.” In other words, we exist in union with the Triune God, but we do not lose our distinct personhood in the process. We matter. We are real to the Triune God.”

NEW AND LIVING WAY

God does not micro-manage people. He indwells them in order that His Spirit will manifest in them so that they may become the sons and daughters they are. “Oneness” is what we already have in contrast with the ‘more of God’ that so many are striving for. If we could believe and live in this oneness and dispense with additions and formulations that are the barnacles of religion we would have more of I AM and be more of WHO WE ARE.

Any gospel that advances the supposition that we are not yet one with God, that there is something remaining to do or that our salvation is not yet secure and certain, is a gospel that did not come from God.

When Paul spoke of ‘Christ in you’ he was declaring the new and living way that makes us and ‘things’ alive. He was more explicit with the words, ‘Christ our life.’ Jesus is our grace. But much more than in a legal sense. He graces our lives as individuals and as Believers with the companionship and life of the trinity. Christ in you is actually God in you.

SPIRIT OF SONSHIP

We live in the fullness of sonship when we are in God plus nothing. As a son and as an agent of the Christ of God we are authorised to
be alive and to impart life to all we touch. With Christ as your life you are spirit and life. Richard Rohr observes,

“
Every resurrection story seems to strongly affirm an ambiguous—yet certain—presence in very ordinary settings, like walking on the road to Emmaus with a stranger, roasting fish on the beach, or what appeared like a gardener to the Magdalene. These moments from Scripture set a stage of expectation and desire that God’s presence can be seen in the ordinary and the material, and we do not have to wait for supernatural apparitions.” (1)

We don’t have to wait for such phenomena and neither are we dependent on religion. Show me a numbed and spiritually dense person and I will show you a person who lives from religion. Show me a person with eyes that see and ears that hear and I will show you a person who is pure in spirit, who sees God and is a living word, sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit. Why? Because Christ is her life.

One with God - God’s presence is in you and you are the vehicle. You need not wait for holy times, holy places or holy rites. In this age your union with God is in you and your everyday life as the surpassing sacrament. Spiritual gifts are a function of your lived union with God, your uniqueness as a person and your agency as a daughter/son.

UNCONTRIVED

Manifestations are common with many who have authority that differs from the scribes. Yet what we are saying , is that one who is incarnated has an authority and bearing that is not contrived or dependent on manifestations. Why? They live as a manifestation of the trinity. This is why a ‘blessing’ from the Lord so often comes to us when living in oneness as a gift woven into the normal course of the day’s events and is still to be identified as ‘God at work.’

GIFTS NOT A SEPARATE LIFE

Understand that people can ‘Hear from God’ without dreams and visions as well as with them. They ‘know’ things because the Spirit of God has made what they know part of them. Gifts function best when we are baptised into the new covenant life. Here we and Father are one in fact and in personal consciousness. We are not one, if living in an old covenant mindset, even when this inheritance is ours in potential. ‘The gifts’ in an old covenant mindset have no root and cannot be sustained or relied on as accurate. They can be poorly applied and badly interpreted because they operate from old covenant separation.

PARTICIPATE IN GOD’S REALITY

In ‘Jesus and the Undoing of Adam, Baxter Kruger writes
, The Christian God is interested in relationship with us, and not just relationship, but union, and not just union, but such a union that everything He is and has—all glory and fullness, all joy and beauty and unbridled life—is to be shared with us and to become as much ours as it is His. The plan from the beginning, in the Christian vision, is that God would give Himself to us, and nothing less, so that we could be filled to overflowing with the divine life.”

All this has been achieved by the cross. We have been made one with God. The adventure of this life is to live out if this ‘oneness’ and impart His life to the world.

IN ADAM ALL HAVE DIED

Operate in an old covenant belief system and separation is our reality (it’s not God’s). For you ‘It is not finished,’ despite Christ’s cry on the cross. You in your mind remain under Adam’s tree, participating in Adam’s death and not yet in Christ’s resurrection. Here, like ghosts in a half-life we are yet to gain our substance, our real identity and the completeness of Christ come in our flesh. We are not fully formed because we are not reborn in Christ. Truly the words of Jesus apply to the half-life of restless souls, ‘Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest’ Matt 11.28 NIV.

Robbery can manifest itself in the spirit of religion. Anti-christ lives to rob Believers of fullness by getting them to live in scraps of religion when what is theirs is an infinite treasury of life without limit. You can do better than ‘keep close to Jesus.’ You can believe that He is in you and with you and that He and this indwelling is your normal life.
