‘The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.’ John 1.1-4 NLT.
Speaking on the adventure of advancing light, John Crowder writes,
“The existence of darkness rests only in the power of a lie. Men are in bondage only by living in the insecurity, fear and despondency of a false identity that never truly existed from God’s perspective. Alienated from God in their minds, because no one has told them they’ve already been reconciled to Him. But the lights have now been turned on. From the apostolic age until now, who has clearly articulated to them who they really are … that the old self – the fallen Adamic era – was completely crucified with Christ before the world began and they have been liberated from decay?” (1)
Lies embedded as good theology are being undone by apostolic teachers and ordinary folks of undiluted faith who are alive in themselves because Christ is their life and in Him they live as a normal life the spiritual reality that is Christ come in their flesh. The result is that with the incarnation active in their being, they are woven into God and God is woven into them. They are people of spirit and life.
“The Lord is opening our eyes to what various streams and tributaries have tasted in part throughout the Church age. Several important themes are converging at the moment: finished work theology; the miraculous; a revelation of the Trinity and happy, creative daily human existence in the incarnational life. All of these concepts are intrinsically woven together. A new, reformed Christ-centered mysticism is on the rise. Rather, a rediscovery of something ancient. It is bridging many streams. Relevant is its cultural approach. Radical is its charismatic fervour. Liberating is its theology of the Triune God of grace.”(2)
‘Mysticism’ is not vapour, as some people think. It’s actually what is meant by life in the Spirit – a lived life in which Believers are companions of each member of the trinity and are actually participants in the real being of God and a manifestation of God – as the sons and daughters they are in spirit and in truth.
