Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

The world needs those for whom Christ is life because the world is dying.

Life is a person. So is righteousness. Liberty is a person as is grace and truth. It is because Christ is our life that we get to be the life of God in the world.

'In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind' John 1.4 NIV.

'For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself' John 5.26 NIV.

In Him we are the righteousness of God and more. We are the stability of God, the security of God, the love of God and the order of God. We are the life of God manifest as sons of life and sons of the new creation.

'He is before all things, and in him all things hold together' Col 1.17 NIV.

Jesus didn't present 'teaching' or a 'message' as eternal life. He presented Himself. He declared Himself as life - life not only as infinity but as eternal life. He presented Himself as your life in the moment and in the season. The notion of eternal life in Jesus is secondary to the unlimited life that is Jesus Himself. He is the limitless life of God. The mystery and exhilaration of this life is that He lives in us and becomes us by the Spirit. This is Christ come in our flesh. If you are still hawking about a law-based gospel it’s time you snapped out of it to begin multiplying the gospel of the Kingdom.

'Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them' John 6.56 NIV.

My wife Elizabeth urged that I finish off eating the profiteroles. I ate some of them with a hot coffee. Soon this food will pass into my blood stream and then into my being. The food will, in a real way become 'me.' Jesus gave us the Lord's supper so that we will live from the fact that it is He who is our life. You can eat life. When we eat Jesus this is what we do. The Lord's table can be thought of as limitless in extent, extending infinitely into time and space. It is spirit. We eat Jesus by instructing our hearts to consume Him. This is the greater meaning of holy communion - the persons of God become our body and being by the Spirit. As we eat His flesh and drink His blood in the Spirit, the Spirit of God transfuses us and becomes us. Father is 'I AM,' so I am truly who I am in Jesus. Only here I am not just a sophisticated well evolved animal. Neither am I a religious robot. I am a son of God and His representative on earth indwelt by Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I am whole because I am 'held in God.'

‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14,20.

None in the Old Testament were indwelt by God. There had been anointings but no 'Christ in you' because there had been no Christ, no cross, no resurrection and no Pentecost. Following Pentecost the Christ installed at Father's right hand made His home in you. Heaven is joined to earth in the incarnation of the Son of Man by the Holy Spirit.

The entire Bible beats a pathway to Christ and His cross. Following His resurrection and Pentecost all life flows from His person. The expansion of life in Jesus is the spread of the new creation. Jesus came to annul religion - not establish it. He put religion to death at the cross and became life itself at His resurrection. The new creation at His resurrection is Christ in you which is His kingdom in the world. The Jesus who reigns in heaven is fully man and fully God. A human being sits beside the Father who is the fullness of God and the fullness of man. It is this Jesus who is more than the means to life and righteousness. He is these things. And in Him we are both the life and the righteousness of God.

The power revealed in the apostles in the book of Acts was not for the authentication of the scripture or the elaboration of religion. This was the multiplication of Christ in you and as the church.

The Christ who had come in the flesh of the Believer is the Christ who manifests Himself in completeness as the church. It is this church that is the agent of the new creation. Not the marketers of religion and the propagators of our perspective. Jesus cast them out of the temple as a sign of what He would do at the cross.

The fullness of Christ in us is a dynamic reality revealed in the sons and daughters of God. It's not an intellectual abstraction or another strand in a belief system. It is the result of having moved beyond a focus on sin and the cross to being multipliers of the authority and power of Jesus. Why? Because Jesus has become you!

As Dr Stephen Crosby declares, Paul is not converted by persuasive argument or superior facts. He has encountered Jesus as His life and the life of the church. In the knowledge of good and evil, the law and performance orientations, righteousness is an ideal that stands apart from us. There is a gulf between this life and us; a dichotomy that marks every version of the knowledge of good and evil. But our gospel is not 'yes and no,' nor is it 'is and should be.' It is the life or Jesus as you, as me and as the church. Get this right and you will be right. The more of us that this right the more the church will be the multiplication of Christ in the world.

A revelation of God's son diluted by law is not a revelation from God and it can never be the gospel of the Kingdom. It is a robbed gospel in which one remains captive to the powers of the air. Reject this DARKNESS and take your place as one joined to our Father by the Son of Man reigning in heaven. All our potency comes from our union with God. This glory is our essence - which is what Jesus has given us to be as His glory and the glory of being ourselves – the sons of God.

This is why we must live in the new covenant and not the old. Any doctrine or truth separated from the reality of Christ as our life cannot deliver life. This is why legalisms, old testament rites revisited like Sabbath-keeping and pass-over ceremonies are fundamentally religious innately lifeless. They cannot deliver life.

Similarly an emphasis on the Holy Spirit and teaching in the anointing cannot deliver the healing of fractured lives if it is simply bolted on like a super charger to an old covenant truck. Again, understanding the doctrine of the new covenant is not life. Christ is our life because He is all and in all. But sound doctrine is always an advantage and the doctrine of the apostles is better than pseudo-revelations and doctrines of demons.

‘I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist’ 2 John 1.7 NIV. Christ come in our flesh manifesting as our life is the Christ’s doctrine and the core of new testament life. The law come in our flesh is a revisionist distortion that is a cunningly devised fable.

Christ in us is the power of an infinite and endless life because in Him we are joined to Father's life and connected to eternity. Circumstances around us may shatter and quake but we are joined by a new and living way to the living rock from which we are hewn.

Christ appears in you immediately you embrace Him. You appear with Him in the kitchen and mowing the lawn because by the Spirit He is intricately intertwined in your being. How cool is that!?

'When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory' Col 3.4 NIV.
