Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

Our ministry is about Christ our life. It is Christ our life. Some years back while reading Paul, I noticed that Paul spoke the words Christ our life as a statement of fact and a declaration that all of what we call life is the expression of Him - and more. That this life in His Spirit is the alpha and omega of the Kingdom and its gospel.

‘In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind’ John 1.4 NIV.
‘I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full’ John 10.10 NIV.

There is in places
an old creation lingering beyond its time. This is a gospel that has not emerged from Adam to live in Jesus. It’s old covenant and is a drag on the new creation. The new creation is the incarnation active in you. Today you and Father are one. This means we are sons in spirit and in truth. Jesus does not live to make you ‘a doing.’ Your identity precedes what you do. Since you are a son of God and nothing can change this - you do what sons of God do.

The destiny of the logos was not the printed page. A mirror can only reflect the object; likewise, the purpose of the page was only to reflect the message which is “Christ in you.” (1) The expression of Christ in the Believer is not a series of character pluses. It is the manifestation of Jesus as you - by the Spirit.
Those who live in the rigidities of law, as sincere as they may be, are innately anti-life. We see this in versions of Islam and in fundamentalist Christianity. There are Believers who reject passion and extravagant joy on puritanical grounds. These are people who want to be a black and white TV because they are against colour. Thankfully not everyone is like this. But this is the tendency of religion as opposed to Christ our life. Jesus did not give us religion. He gave us Himself - the personification of life - to be our life. The greatest bondage is not the prison of walls and bars. It’s the bondage of the mind in which we do not know we are stifled and muffled and cannot see the Door that is our Freedom. Guard your soul against those who teach a lesser gospel even with sincerity. Eat Jesus yourself and you will know His gospel. Live as a consumer of Christianity and you will find yourself eating junk food. Tom Pickering sounds this warning,

In their effort to “guide” or maybe to control others, they try to balance the old law with the new freedom in Jesus. The Bible does not call it balance, it calls this mixture. Much of the New Testament is written about this mixture being taught in the church.” (1)
Religion killed Jesus when He came among us for a reason. Religion is anti-life. There’s an innate meanness in religion that resists life to the full and which pits itself against the advance of our fullness in Christ. Religion will make us opinionated, blind and half-dead. This is why Jesus undid Adam and wrapped us in Himself. According to God’s will Jesus manifests as Bob and June. Never as rules and rites. As a person He manifests in persons who are eager to received Him and who do not settle for substitutes, shadows of Him or theologies of the letter. They go for CHRIST AS THEMSELVES. This thought is expressed in the following observation.

Here’s a thing. All of us would do better if we did not try to copy Jesus. We are no more adept at finding success here than the Jews were in keeping the law. ‘Being like Jesus’ is not entirely accurate as an expression of the Christian message. We will have much more peace and success as daughters and sons by simply asking Jesus to be our life. The new testament is less about ‘being like Jesus’ and more about Jesus expressing Himself by His Spirit as you.

Beyond the tablet of stone, the papyrus scroll or parchment roll, human life has become the articulate voice of God. Jesus is the crescendo of God’s conversation with humankind; he gives context and content to the authentic thought. Everything that God had in mind for man is voiced in him. Jesus is God’s language.” (2)
