Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

An excellent way to live a full life is to receive the One who is life to the full. The cool thing about God is that He is life and light. Also love, joy and laughter. Not to forget liberty and freedom. In my matriculation year, known as fifth year then and year 12 now, we 'did' Julius Caesar for literature. I enjoyed this study and as a joke used many of the phrases in normal conversation. 'On of these was, 'Liberty! Freedom! Tyranny is dead!' This might be uttered at the end of a particularly dry history class on the way to the cafeteria for lunch. It's actually the cry of Cinna following the assassination of the said Julius in Act 3, scene 1.

But tyranny is never dead when we are bound by ourselves. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Note this spirit is the Spirit of Jesus and hence of the Father and Holy Spirit. Where the Spirit of Heaven is there is freedom, joy and peace. Above all there is freedom to be who you are and walk as your redeemed self in the spirit of truth, having exited the influence of the father of lies.

'Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom' 2 Cor 3.17 NIV.

Father has always been reaching out to us. Ever since the fall He has extended His hand. He has done this in Jesus and then in the pouring out of Holy Spirit. We are never orphans. But it's up to us to grasp the extended hand and be drawn in to the life of heaven. As such we become fountains of his life on earth.

A friend once remarked that she had been back to church and had felt comfort in hearing the hymns she sang in church as a child and a youth. Reflecting on this I noted that these hymns had been written in the 1860s and at times of revival. I meditated on the fact that there are contemporary praise and worship songs about our life with God today, written by many who have a dynamic relationship with Jesus.
God is is a now God. While great songs of faith have been written in the past, the comfort and melancholia we might gain from hearing songs of yesteryear is not God. It's us. This is us and the emotions of our soul. And while such emotions are ok there is something that is more beneficial by far: Experiencing the manifest presence of Jesus and living daily with Him as our life.

'And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son' 1 John 5.11 NIV.

You don't have to earn intimacy with Jesus. He lives in all who believe. ( And is not far from those who don’t) Agree with what you have and start from there!

The conceit of religion is that it is the worship of ourselves in the name of God. There's nothing complex about our relationship with God. The trinity makes their home in all who believe in Jesus. The Spirit of Christ lives in us and with us. Those in relationship with a real and present Jesus are surrounded by heaven and the angels of God. We can live a stultified Christianity by means of the church. With Christ as our life we can be the church. We and the Father are one, because Jesus is living in us and He is one with the Father. Now we are truly daughters and sons. We are transfigured by the Christ within and as sons/daughters we give the world a revelation of Our Father.

Christs teaching is that He is our life. This was Paul’s gospel and John’s theme in the figures of living water and living bread and wine. Since Jesus is exclusively our life there are no substitutes. Attached to the law we do not live in the Spirit. We remain notional sons, not sons in spirit and in truth. We have this treasure but we do not possess it because the letter kills and only the Spirit gives life. The sad thing about law-bound mindsets is that we live in the illusion that we are living in the Spirit.

'Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them' John 14.3 NIV.

Did you know that even as a sinner and as a person whose desultory attempts to be Godly are frequently ineffectual, we have full access to our Father? Did you know that you don't have to earn your way to His presence by consistent overcoming and good works. Do you know that you place is in Father's heart because Jesus earned this for you and as such He is the way to the Father. While union with Him will change your life, your access to Father does not depend on how much you have changed. It depends entirely on His love demonstrated and guaranteed in Jesus. You place in His heart depends not on the fact that you did not stuff up this month. It depends on the fact that He loves you and finds you a delight!S

'My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One' 1 John 2.1 NIV.
