His life as your life

Gaslighting is a form of bullying. Outside of God the need to be ourselves takes the form of selfishness and rebellion. In marriage, family and workplace, it can emerge as ‘gaslighting’ – a delusional form of manipulation and control. Religion will either exacerbate it or heal one of it – that’s if it is spirituality more than religion and ‘Jesus’ more than Christianity.

With Christ as our life we become our real self. We are ‘free to be me’ as we were made to be and as we are becoming in the Spirit of Christ.

‘In Christ’ means the spirit of Jesus manifests as you. ‘In Christ’ does not mean ‘in Christianity.’
The Christ life is not religious. It is practical in the sense that it really is ‘Christ come in our flesh’, which is to say it is the spirit of Jesus becoming our lived-out life.

Your inheritance in Christ is profoundly simple and all pervading. It is self- authenticating and monopolistic in that there is no other way beside this new and living way who is Christ as you.

The life believers now live is no longer a life of their own efforts; in Christ, this old life is dead and buried. Being incorporated into Christ, the life we now live is the life that Christ himself lives, and his life is eternally toward God. In sum, just as we participate in the love and life Christ receives from the Father, so we participate in the love and life Christ lives to the Father. Christ is God for us, and us toward God. In Christ, we receive unsurpassable worth, and because this reception is not a fictitious thing-we really do have this worth from God!-we also participate in Christ's overflowing of life and love to God and to others. The perfect love that God is - is directed to us, abides in us, and therefore flows through us-and all of this takes place only as we are in Christ. The love of the Father for Christ is ours, and so is the love of Christ for the Father and for all others.” (1)

The description above is what Paul means when he writes,
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory’ Col 3.3,4 NIV. The bonus is that this glory of being the real you is now. It starts when you transition from religion as your life to Christ as your life. It’s the new birth and really is a new life of spirit and life that is you.
