CHRIST YOUR LIFE

His life as your life

A WAY OUT OF STAGNATION

You need not live in false dichotomies. When Jesus cried. ‘It is finished!’ the artificial division of sacred and secular came crashing down – a product of the fall and the fantasy of the knowledge of good and evil, the notion of sacred and secular came from separation from God and a separated self. To live in this separation is to continue in the fall.

We can talk of togetherness and oneness in the Body of Christ yet live in separation because we have positioned ourselves in Adam and the law. Adamic life and Adamic culture is finished. Christ our life is our healing, wholeness and culture – a culture we call the Kingdom of God.

HIS MIND

Since the cross we are privy to the mind of Christ. For Jesus, He and Father are one and He and creation are one. Jesus brings all things together in Himself. In this post-cross age we have been received into His life. By the Spirit He has come into ours and is present everywhere and always in us. In Christ you are the manifest presence – that is, you are when Christ is your life.

Christ is your life in principle whether you believe it or not. But all that is His life becomes your life when you do.

INCARNATION

The creation was always incarnated with God – in a general way. In the Son of God this incarnation was made explicit and visible as the person of Jesus. Christ in you becomes the presence of infinite life in you and joins you to Jesus and His oneness with our Father and Holy Spirit and His fellowship with the created realms.

‘And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth’ Eph 1.10 NLT. He is doing this now through the agency of the sons of God – sons who are sons of the Free Woman and not sons of the slave woman.

AGENT OF LIFE

In Jesus we are one with life as a person and one with life as the creation. But it is the new creation of which you are an agent. An agent because the trinity lives in you and is made explicit through you. One with God you have the Spirit without limit. This is the ground of the anointing and the gifts. But also the reality of your fellowship with God.

Jesus is the light and life of the world. You can receive His light. Enter His life or hold to your own ‘light’. One will draw you into increasing life. The other will see you become inert and end in stagnation.

ADOPTION

You can live a consistent life in the Spirit of Adoption. This means detaching from the law and living in your inheritance of undiluted union with Jesus. This is yours as an inheritance now. But it can be diluted and ignored by an mindset of unbelief. When we choose the mindset to live in we choose the reality that is ours in the world. Cling to an Adamic-Mosaic outlook and we live in separation. Agree that we have been received into Christ’ life and we live in the realm of God and God lives in you.

“When I know that the world around me is both the hiding place and the revelation of God, I can no longer make a significant distinction between the natural and the supernatural, between the holy and the profane. (A divine “voice” makes this exactly clear to a very resistant Peter in Acts 10.) Everything I see and know is indeed one “uni-verse,” revolving around one coherent center. This Divine Presence seeks connection and communion, not separation or division—except for the sake of an even deeper future union.” (1)

You are not forced to live in wholeness. You can create a version of holiness out of the stuff of religion. But you will make an artificial self and a lesser christ.

“When I know that the world around me is both the hiding place and the revelation of God, I can no longer make a significant distinction between the natural and the supernatural, between the holy and the profane. Because you and Father are one you have the ability to ignite people, places and things with His infinite life.
